CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team dropped its Big South Conference home game against the Liberty Flames on Saturday, 63-41.

PC moves to 13-13 and 8-9 in the Big South Conference. The Blue Hose next travel to Longwood for a Saturday clash at 2 p.m. Liberty improves to 19-6 overall, 15-1 in League action and play at Longwood on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Elizabeth Landers (Greenville, S.C.) led PC with nine points and six rebounds, while Cortney Storey (Fayetteville, Tenn.) registered eight points.

Ashley Rininger led the Flames with 16 points, putting her just 15 points shy of 1,000 points. Sadalia Ellis contributed 10 points to the visitors' winning effort. Katelyn Adams came up with a team-leading eight rebounds.

PC struggled from the floor, shooting 28.0 percent (14-for-50) on the night. The Flames used 30 points in the paint to take the win and blocked eight shots.

Liberty got out to an early lead, but three-pointers kept PC in the game with two coming from Storey and one from Allie Wagner (Easley, S.C.) to help tie it up at 12-12 with 13:07 to play. The Flames scored a quick five points to take back the lead, but PC cut its deficit to three points on a pair of free throws by Landers. That would be the closest the Blue Hose would get, though, as Liberty would outscore PC 17-7 over the final ten minutes of the half to take a 34-21 lead at intermission.

Storey led PC in the first half with all of her eight points, while Rininger had 14 points for the Flames. Landers led both teams with five first-half boards for the Blue Hose.

The Blue Hose cut the gap to 12 on a Rebecca Walker (Snellville, Ga.) trey with 15:33 to go and a Miles free throw pulled PC to within 11. Walker scored again with 7:11 to make it a 14-point game, but unfortunately for the Blue Hose, the Flames outscored PC 29-20 in the half to take the win.
