The Presbyterian College men's tennis team fought back for a 4-3 win over Wright State and dropped a close match to No. 52 Clemson by a score of 5-2 on Sunday. 

PC's record improves to 11-4 with the Big South Conference opener for the team on Friday against Campbell at 1 p.m. at the Templeton Tennis Courts. The Blue Hose also host Limestone that evening at 5 p.m.

In doubles action against Wright State, PC's No. 3 team of Brandon Mills (Lilburn, Ga.) and Lukas Luckemeier (Greven, Germany) earned an 8-1 win over the Raiders. PC's No. 1 and 2 teams suffered losses, so the Blue Hose headed into singles play down 0-1. 

In singles, Mills earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over Simon Cote at line 3, while Andrew Connolly defeated Luckemeier 6-2, 6-0 at line 5. 

Alejandro Bejar (Madrid, Spain) tied the match up 2-2 with his commanding 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles and Danny Bruce (Marietta, Ga.) put the Blue Hose up with his 6-3, 6-1 victory at line 2. 

Joel Roberts (Summerville, S.C.) lost a close battle at No. 1, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 to set up teammate Will Baird (Raleigh, N.C.) up for a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 three-set victory at No. 5 to secure the win for PC.

In doubles action against the No. 52 Tigers, Hunter Harrington and Luke Johnson defeated PC's No. 1 team of Alexander Lykou (Aarhus, Denmark) 8-4. Hampton Drake and Christian Harris knocked off Ben Kelley (Weaverville, N.C.) and Ryan Miller (Norcross, Ga.) at line 2 by a scored of 8-6. Alejandro Augusto and Robert Dudley also beat PC's third doubles team of Luckemeier and Mills 8-5 at flight three to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

Roberts went down 6-0, 6-2 at line 1 to Harrington, Diego Manzanas (Madrid, Spain) suffered a 6-1, 6-4 loss to Drake at No. 2 singles, and Bruce lost 6-1, 6-4 to Johnson at No. 3. 

Mills lost a battle with Fernando Sala at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 4-6, 12-10, but Bejar fought back for a 0-6 6-4, 10-8 win at line 5 over Dudley and Kelley earned a tough-fought victory over Daniel Strawn at No. 6, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.
