Men?s Tennis Hosts Three Matches This Week

Men's Tennis Presbyterian College Athletics

PC Edges UNC Asheville, 4-3, to Stay Unbeaten in Conference Play

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team improved to 3-0 in Big South play with a 4-3 victory at UNC Asheville on Wednesday afternoon. PC returns to action on Sunday with its third straight conference match on the road against Coastal Carolina.

UNC Asheville took the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Alex Croker and Brett Landau claimed a 6-2 win at No. 1 and Henry Patten and Josh Swindler paired up for a 6-3 win at No. 2. The match on court three went unfinished.

PC would turn the tables in singles, taking four of the six matches for the victory. Alexander Lykou won at No. 1 in three sets, 7-6, 4-6, 7-5. Danny Bruce continued his recent success, winning for the fourth time in his last five matches with a three-set win at No. 3, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.

Brandon Mills continued his recent hot streak as well, winning 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 for his sixth win in his last seven matches. Ben Kelley earned his team-high 10th singles win of the year with a straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6

PC is off to a 3-0 start in conference play for the first time since 2014 when the Blue Hose also started 3-0. They would go on to compile a 7-1 conference mark en route to the Big South regular-season title.
