CHATTANOOGA, TENN – The Presbyterian College volleyball team dropped its final match of the Chattanooga Classic, falling to the Chattanooga Mocs in three sets, 25-10, 25-14, and 25-21.
How it Happened
The Mocs opened with a strong first set, building a 17-4 lead, before the Blue Hose took the next four of five points to make it 18-8. A Chattanooga 5-0 run halted the potential rally as the Mocs took the eventual 25-10 win. The Mocs turned a 6-5 lead into 10-5 off four straight points in set two, with another 4-0 run late in the set sealing the deal, 25-14. The third set was a hard-fought affair with PC and Chattanooga fighting back and forth for much of the frame. With the Mocs leading 11-10 Chattanooga rattled off four straight to make it 15-10. PC clawed back two within one again, 18-17, off a 4-1 run. Both teams traded points down the stretch with the Mocs taking a 21-17 lead. Again, the Blue Hose fought back, taking four of the set's next six points to make it 23-21. The comeback was not to be as the Mocs scored the next two to take the 25-21 third set and match win.
Player of the Match
Samantha Del Toro led the team with 10 kills, and was the only Blue Hose in double-digits. She also collected two block assists.
Stat of the Match
The Blue Hose finished with 23 errors, giving them a .034 hitting percentage for the match. Chattanooga only had 11 more kills, 37-26, but posted 10 fewer errors as well for a .279 hitting percentage. The Mocs also turned the tables in service aces, posting 10, compared to one for PC.
Notables
• For the first time in their Division I history the Blue Hose have opened the season 2-1.
• Samantha Del Toro and Sierra Davis paced the team on the offensive side, each collecting over 20 attacks with DelToro at 24 and DAvis at 25.
• Sara Rogers finished with 22 assists, collecting over 20 for the third straight match

PC moves to 2-1, while Chattanooga improves to 2-0.
