CLEMSON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis fell to Clemson, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center in Clemson, S.C. The Blue Hose now sit a 2-3 on the young season, while the Tigers remained unbeaten at 7-0 on the year.

Clemson claimed two of the three doubles matches to take the 1-0 match lead. Alexander Lykou and Brandon Mills took the first doubles decision with a strong 6-1 win on court two to start the match. Clemson earned a 6-3 win on court three to even it up with court one deciding the doubles point. Ben Kelley and Joel Roberts put up a strong effort at No. 1 but ultimately fell, 7-6, as the Tigers took the point.

In singles, Clemson earned wins on courts one, two and five to clinch the match with the remaining matches going unfinished. CU's Daffra Sanon, ranked 123rd nationally, recorded a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 to start singles action. Kelley then fell in singles play for the first time in 2017, dropping the match at No. 5 to Brent Lett, 6-4, 6-4.

The clincher would come on court two in a three-set affair. CU's Robert Dudley took set one, 6-4, but Mills responded by taking set two, 6-2, to force the decisive third. Dudley was able to prevail in the tight third frame, 7-5.

Joel Roberts was down just a game in the third set at No. 6 when the match was decided. Jaime Castillo-Lopez led 2-1 in the first set on court four and Alejandro Bejar trailed 4-3 in set on court three at the conclusion.

PC returns to action on Sunday, February 5 with a doubleheader at Mercer.
