PC Wins Fifth Straight in 6-1 Victory at Liberty

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team defeated Liberty, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon in Lynchburg, Va. to win its fifth straight match. The Blue Hose are now 12-9 overall and 4-0 in Big South play, while the Flames fell to 7-11 overall and 0-4 in the Big South.

PC claimed the doubles point for the 14th time this season, including all four Big South matches to date. Brandon Mills and Alexander Lykou took court two, 6-3, to get things started, before Ben Kelley and Joel Roberts took court one, 6-2, to clinch the point.

The Blue Hose then claimed wins on five of the six courts in singles with only the top spot falling Liberty's way. Diego Manzanas gave PC a 2-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win on court three and Kelley followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory on court four. Jaime Lopez then clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 to ensure PC's fifth straight W.

To close it out, Alejandro Bejar won 6-1, 6-3 on court five and Mills worked his way to a 6-2, 6-4 win on court two to push it to 6-0 PC. The Flames claimed the final match of the day with Chase Burton winning the No. 1 spot, 6-4, 6-3.

The Blue Hose will look to extend their winning streak on Sunday, as they travel to Farmville, Va. to face Longwood at 2 p.m.
