CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team cap off the regular season with a 5-1 victory over NJIT on Friday afternoon to give the seniors a win in their final matches at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C. The Blue Hose end the regular season with a 15-10 record, while NJIT drops to 7-13.

PC clinched the doubles points with wins on courts one and two. Ben Kelley and Joel Roberts earned a 6-1 victory at No. 1 for their 13th victory of the season as a pair. Alexander Lykou and Brandon Mills then clinch the point with a 6-3 win on court two to give PC a 1-0 lead.

Singles favored the Blue Hose from the outset with PC going on to take four of the five matches with one going unfinished. Roberts got it started with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 in his final regular season match at PC. NJIT got its lone point of the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 to make it a 2-1 PC lead.

The Blue Hose took the rest from there, as Mills completed a 7-6, 6-0 victory at No. 2 and Kelley followed with a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 4. Alejandro Bejar finished just seconds behind Kelley for the 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5 to close out the match. Diego Manzanas was leading 6-4, 5-4 at No. 3 when the match was called.

PC ends the regular season having won eight of its last nine matches, after clinching the Big South Regular Season Championship with a win over Winthrop on Monday. The Blue Hose are the top seed in the Big South Championship, which is set to begin on Wednesday in Winston-Salem, N.C. with PC facing the No. 8 seed Liberty at 9 a.m.
