Boone, N.C. – Sophomore Jordan Barbara scored a pair of first half goals on Tuesday night at the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex as the Presbyterian College men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 win over Appalachian State.
How It Happened
Jan Hoffelner saved a free kick attempt from Felix Kollmannthaler in the 14th minute to keep the game scoreless.
Barbara gave PC the lead at the 21:04 mark with a shot from the top of the box into the top left corner.
The freshmen scored again just 11 minutes later off an assist from Plamen Mangarov to make it 2-0.
The Mountaineers' Alex Hernandez had an excellent scoring chance saved by Hoffelner in the 60th minute.
Appalachian State had an 11-3 advantage on corner kicks and 9-7 on shots. Hoffelner recorded two saves in the shutout win. The Blue Hose moved to 5-10 overall this season while App State fell to 7-4-3.
