How It Happened

Tess Santos sank a three at the 8:55 mark to give PC an early 3-2 lead. However, that lead was short-lived as Vanderbilt went on a 13-0 run over the next five minutes to take a 15-3 lead with a layup from Chelsie Hall at 3:45.

A three-pointer from Kacie Hall 20 seconds later brought the score to 15-6. Santos would later sink another three to make it 21-9 with 1:10 remaining in the first.

Bria Gibbs sparked a 6-0 Blue Hose run with a layup at the end of the first. Layups from Hall and Gibbs at the start of the second quarter shrunk the lead to just eight points, 23-15, with 6:59 left in the half.

That was the closest the game would get as Vanderbilt went on a 14-2 run over the next 4:29 to grow their lead to 20 points. The Commodores held a 39-22 advantage at the half.
