NOTES
Presbyterian College heads to Dayton Dec. 22, for a 2 p.m., contest ... The Flyers and Blue Hose have met just once, a 52-71 win for Dayton in 2009 ...

The Blue Hose led by as much as 14 points in the first half, behind 65.2% shooting from the field, but the Bulldogs rallied back late, as Butler survived for the 76-67 win over PC in action this past Tuesday at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. ... JC Younger led PC with 16 points ...

Dayton is 6-5 after an 85-72 win against Western Michigan Dec. 19 ... The Flyers are led by Josh Cunningham with 16.2 points per game, and Trey Landers with 7.3 rebounds per game ...

After playing at home six of its last nine games, PC is now on the road for six of seven games, including four in a row ...

PC pulled down 54 rebounds against Trinity Baptist, which ranked third in the PC DI record book ... This season the Blue Hose are 6-0 when out-rebounding their opponent ...

Three Blue Hose are averaging in double figures 12 games into the season, with Adam Flagler leading the way with 15.9 ... Francois Lewis has 14.9, with JC Younger in third with 10.8 ... Cory Hightower is tops on the boards with 6.0 rebounds ...

The 35 points for Francois Lewis against St. Francis ranked fourth in the PC record book, his 12 made field goals tying for second ... Davon Bell's 11 assists ranked second as well ... JC Younger's 30 points against VMI tied for ninth, his nine three-pointers a record ...

For the first time in its Division I history, the Blue Hose faced two back to back top 25 teams with Marquette (11/17) ranking 24th, and UCLA (11/19) sitting at 17th ...

The game against Butler was the seventh of nine this season against a new opponent, including first-year league member, Hampton ... If you count teams since Presbyterian joined the ranks of Division I than that number moves to 10, with the last meeting between the Blue Hose and CofC Cougars occurring when PC was in Division II ...

The six steals by the Blue Hose against Marquette were a PC Division I record ...

The 27 assists and 18 three-pointers against VMI ranked for third in the PC record book ... The 103 points tied for seventh ... Adam Flagler's 10 free throws tied for 11th in the PC DI record book, his 1.000 pct. tied for first ... The Blue Hose shot .667 from the perimeter, also a PC DI mark ...

Until it hit five against Jacksonville PC had hit at least 10 three-pointers seven games in a row, including 16 against Welch ... That snapped the previous record, a five-game streak that opened the 2007-08 season ... In its DI history the Blue Hose have just 53 games with double-digit three-pointers, which includes a 15-game mark in 2007-08, and a 10-game mark last season ... PC has nine double-digit three-pointer games already this season ...

The Blue Hose had a three-game winning streak snapped at Marquette ... The streak was the longest since a five-game mark early last season ... During the three-game stretch, which included wins over Tennessee Tech, Welch, and Boyce, PC averaged 97.0 points, shot 50.7 pct. from the field, and averaged 44.3 rebounds per game ...

Should the 10.2 turnovers per game hold up for the year, it will break the PC Division I record for turnovers per game ... The record was 11.9 and was set last season, Coach Kerns' first season ... It dropped 3.1 points from the 2016-17 season ... The 6.7 steals per game, as well as the 1.7 assist/turnover ratio would be season records as well ...

When PC turned the ball over just five times against Boyce it tied for the Blue Hose Division I record ...

While PC lost its leading scorer in Reggie Dillard to graduation, the team returned the next three, in Davon Bell (12.8), Francois Lewis (12.4), and JC Younger (10.3) ... The Blue Hose leading rebounder in Lewis (4.8) returned, while leading assist-getter Bell (5.2), who was also second in points per game, returned as well ...

In 2017-18 the Blue Hose won their 100th game as a Division I member with a 69-62 win over High Point Feb. 15 ...

With 11 assists against SFC Davon Bell moved into first in career assists at PC with 355 ... He now has 388 ... Bell is also just 43 steals from taking over the top career spot of 185 ...

Several Blue Hose are showing up in the Big South statistics (as of Dec. 18) ... Adam Flagler is 10th in scoring (15.9), Francois Lewis is 13th (14.9), and JC Younger is 26th (10.8) ... Cory Hightower is seventh in rebounding (6.0), while Davon Bell is tops in assists with 6.6 ... Adam Flagler is first in free throw percentage with .886, while JC Younger is second in three-pointers made (2.9), Adam Flagler third (2.8) ...

PC announced Nov. 14 the signing of forward Owen McCormack (Advance, N.C.), guard CJ Melton (Hoover, Ala.), and forward RJ Wilson (Raleigh, N.C.) to join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2019 ... According to Coach Kerns McCormack has a very high basketball IQ and is extremely skilled and stretches the floor with his ability to shoot the ball from 3pt ... He is an excellent student and fits the way they like to play with his skill set, but also has some toughness and ability to rebound the ball ... Melton has very high ceiling and can play multiple positions on the offensive end and provides some great length on the defensive end with his long wingspan... He is a worker and has a great passion to play and develop ... Wilson is a skilled big who is versatile and gives us some additional help in the front court ... He has great size combined with the skill set of a guard with his ability to pass and handle the ball ...

PC has made at least one three-pointer in every game this season, marking the 351st game in a row the Blue Hose have hit at least one three-pointer in a game ... PC has hit one three-pointer in several games, the last against Clemson in 2015, but has not been held without one in its entire Division I history ...
