Presbyterian Falls to Samford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team fell at Samford on Monday afternoon, 5-2, in Birmingham, Ala. at the Samford Tennis Center. The Blue Hose fall to 3-7 on the year, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-2.

The Blue Hose managed the early lead by claiming the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Alejandro Bejar and Jaime Castillo-Lopez took No. 2 doubles, 6-2, and Daniel Stenger and Will Baird recorded a 6-4 at No. 3 to give PC a 1-0 lead.

Singles turned in favor of the Bulldogs, though, as they recorded wins on five of the six courts. Brandon Mills earned a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 to improve to 6-4 on the year. Baird battled at No. 6, taking the opening set, 6-4, but Samford's Max Rebol rallied to take the final two sets, 6-2, 6-4. The remaining four matches were all decided in straight sets.

PC returns to action on Friday, hosting Kennesaw State at noon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
