CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team swept Saturday's doubleheader, topping Appalachian State, 4-3, and Lee University, 6-1, at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C. PC improves to 3-4 on the year with the two victories.

PC opened the day with a close win over Appalachian State. The Mountaineers took the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The third would go unfinished with PC's Luis Conde and Alejandro Bejar leading 5-3.

The Blue Hose turned the tide in singles, winning four of the six matches for the victory. Jaime Castillo-Lopez got it started with a 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 and Bejar followed with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2. App then tied the match at 2-2 with a win at No. 6 but Brandon Mills put PC back in front, recording a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3.

App took court one to make it 3-3 with No. 5 as the decisive match. Freshman Daniel pulled off the win on court five, 6-0, 7-5, to give PC the 4-3 victory.

In the latter match, PC swept the three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. Stenger and Castillo-Lopez recorded a 6-0 win at No. 2, followed by Will Baird and Elias Svensson with a 6-1 win at No. 3. Mills and Alexander Lykou closed it out with a 6-2 win at No. 1.

Singles favored PC with five of six matches going to the Blue Hose. Mills recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2, while Stenger recorded a 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4. Baird followed with a 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6, his first win of the season, to clinch the victory for PC. Castillo-Lopez recorded a three-set win on No. 3, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-1) and Lykou won 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1.

PC returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to Furman for a 3 p.m. match.
