Winthrop (4-9-1, 2-3 Big South) is riding an unbeaten streak of three games after tying Georgia Southern and picking up wins over Longwood and Radford. Jordan Walshaw leads the team offensively with nine points (1G, 7A) ahead of Marc Carreras' eight points (4G).

Winthrop and Presbyterian College meet for the 21st time as Winthrop leads the all-time series 17-3. After winning 17 straight meetings, the Blue Hose have won the last three and have outscored the Eagles 8-1 in those three games.

The Blue Hose earned a 3-1 victory over USC Upstate in a rainy game last Saturday at Martin Stadium. Riccardo Turcis, Adrian Edo Martin and Sergio Pinto all recorded goals.
 
tHats Impressive ...
Redshirt freshman Cesar Sancho was named the Big South Freshman of the Week on September 30 after the center back recorded a hat trick in PC's 3-0 win against Furman. It was the first hat trick in PC's Division I era and first clean sheet of the 2019 campaign.
 
6000 Minute Men ...
Senior Ricardo Hernandez played the full 95 minutes in the team's 2-1 OT win against Longwood and became the program's first DI player to surpass 6000 career minutes. Classmate Sergio Pinto needs just 23 minutes to join Hernandez.
 
Milestone Watch ...
Pinto's goal against USC Upstate gave him four on the season and 14 in his career. He is now tied with Ignacio Monchetti (2011-14) for the most goals (14), assists (10) and points (38) by an individual during PC's DI era.
 
Preseason Poll ...
The Blue Hose were selected fourth in the Big South preseason poll for the second consecutive year. After winning the 2017 Big South Tournament, last year's team dropped a 1-0 overtime game to Campbell in the Big South Finals.
