Blue Hose Fall To CSU

Clinton, S.C.  – The Presbyterian College football team was unable to overcome four turnovers as Charleston Southern picked up a 27-7 victory over the Blue Hose on Saturday afternoon at Bailey Memorial Stadium. Wide Receiver Keith Pearson led the Blue Hose offense with a career-high 129 receiving yards. Linebacker Colby Campbell paced the defense with 16 tackles and an interception.

OPENING KICK
- Colby Campbell recorded his ninth 10+ tackle performance of the season as he racked up 16 tackles in the contest. It marks the second time this season that Campbell has recorded 15+ tackles in a game (20 vs Kennesaw State).
- Jaiden Turner's fourth quarter score was the freshman's first career touchdown on the ground and second career touchdown overall.
- Tyler Huff passed for 111 yards, while Brandon Thompson passed for 144 yards.
- Wide Receiver Keith Pearson set a new career-high with 129 yards receiving to lead all pass catchers on Saturday. He also tied a career-high with nine catches.
- Pearson also moved into sole possession of second in the Blue Hose DI record book for receptions with now 125 career receptions.
- Noah Suber, in the second quarter, recorded his second interception of the season. Campbell added his first interception of his career in the fourth quarter.
- It marked the second straight game and fourth overall this season that the Blue Hose have had at least two interceptions in a game.
- Travigea Ware set a new career-high with seven tackles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - Charleston Southern got out to the early lead with a seven-yard touchdown to give the guests a 7-0 lead.
- The Bucs extended the lead on a 28-yard touchdown reception to push the lead out to 14-0.
- CSU pushed across a two-yard touchdown on the opening play of the second quarter to make it 21-0.
- The Buccaneers added a pair of field goals in the second half including one from 51 yards out to make it a 27-0 lead.
- PC picked up a touchdown in the final minute of the game with a two yard rushing score from Jaiden Turner.

• Presbyterian concludes the 2019 season next Saturday when the Blue Hose welcome St. Andrews for a 1 pm kickoff on senior day. The game will be on ESPN+ and broadcasted on WPCC 96.5 FM and Fox Sports 98.3 FM.
