Blue Hose Top Panthers in Regular Season Finale

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team concluded the regular season with a 3-0 sweep (26-24, 25-16, 25-16) at High Point on Saturday afternoon in Big South Conference action. The Blue Hose improve to 14-14 (8-6 Big South), while the Panthers fall to 20-11 (12-2 Big South).
 
Notables
- Trinity Williams led Presbyterian with a match-high 13 kills on a .522 hitting percentage, and Allie Wright added 10 while hitting .444.
- Lauren Talbert pitched in eight kills and seven digs. Talbert and Wright served three aces apiece.
- Sierra Jones handed out a match-high 23 assists and added seven digs.
- Erin Cooke chipped in 12 helpers, seven digs and six kills.
- Erin Eulitz recorded 13 digs and equaled her career best with six assists.
- PC hit .239 for the contest, while holding HPU to a .090 hitting percentage.
- The victory is the Blue Hose first over High Point since 2014, snapping an eight-match skid. It also clinches PC's first winning record in Big South play since 2012.
 
How it Happened
- After a back-and-forth start to the first set, Presbyterian surged ahead with a 9-0 run to take a 17-9 lead. The Blue Hose were on the brink of taking the set, when a seven-point Panthers' spurt evened things up at 24-24. PC recovered, getting the next two points on a Paige Cairns kill and an HPU error.
- The Blue Hose got off to a fast start in the second set, tallying the first five points, and nine of the first 10. High Point drew no closer than four for the remainder of the set.
- The Panthers climbed in front 8-5 to start the third set, but a 5-0 spurt put PC ahead, 10-8. A 6-0 run then helped the Blue Hose stretch the margin to 17-10, and PC held on from there to claim the sweep.

The Blue Hose are the No. 4 seed for the Big South Conference Championship, and face No. 5 seed UNC Asheville in quarterfinal action on Friday, Nov. 22, at 4:30 pm in Rock Hill, S.C.
