Quinnipiac hit 13 three-pointers, including seven in the second half, to hold off several Blue rallies and take the 73-64 win over the Presbyterian College men's basketball team in its second game of the Bobcat Invitational being held in Hamden, Conn., Nov. 22-24.Â
Cory Hightower provided PC a highlight reel, scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists for his first career triple-double, and the first in Presbyterian's Division I history.

Scoring the Game
After finding themselves down 0-4 early in the first half the Blue Hose scored six straight to take a 6-4 lead, 16:09 to go before the break.Â
Michael Isler posted a layup at 12:55 to give PC an 8-6 lead at the 12:55 mark, but Quinnipiac responded with six unanswered to retake the lead, 12-8, 9:11 left. Each team alternated three-pointers over the next five and a half minutes, PC's threes coming from
Kody Shubert and
JC Younger, as the Bobcats built an 18-14 lead, 6:30 remaining. An 8-5 run by Quinnipiac put the home team ahead 26-19, 3:32 on the clock. An Isler free throw and a
Cory Hightower lay-up cut the margin to four the final minute of play, but Tyrese Williams hit the team's six three-pointer of the half to give Quinnipiac a 29-22 lead at the break.

PC cut the lead to four early in the second half before a Williams three put the home team ahead by seven again, 18:46 left. Three minutes later Hightower cut the margin to four again, but Quinnipiac answered again with a three-pointer to make it 37-30, 15:28 to go. After a
JC Younger three-pointer made it a five-point game just over 14 minutes to go, the Bobcats went on an 8-3 run to extend the lead to 10, 12 minutes on the clock. Every time PC cut into the lead Quinnipiac would respond, this time
Kody Shubert hit a three to make it a seven-point contest. The Bobcats came back with an 8-2 run to make it a 13-point game, 58-45, 8:09 left. A 7-0 run by PC with just over four to play cut the margin to 64-57 before an Aaron Falzon layup ended the home team drought. That would be as close as the Blue Hose would get as Quinnipiac held of every PC advance, taking the 73-64 win.

PC shot 42.6% from the field after a 50.0% second half performance, while Quinnipiac shot 39.2% for the game. The Bobcats hit 13 three-pointers, compared to seven for PC, while the home team dominated the charity stripe, going 20-of-24, to PC's five-of-nine. Rebounds were close with Quinnipiac holding a 39-32 advantage. The home team posted two more turnovers, 11-9. The Blue Hose controlled the paint 32-14.
