PC Falters at 14th-Ranked Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Presbyterian College men's basketball team could not dig out of an early hole, falling 86-44 at 14th-ranked Michigan on Saturday afternoon at Crisler Center. Owen McCormack paced the Blue Hose with 10 points, while Eli Brooks' 16 points led the way for the Wolverines.
 
Scoring the Game
Michigan tallied the first seven points over the first three and a half minutes of the contest. PC whittled the deficit to 9-4 at the 14:55 mark, but the hosts countered with 8-0 and 9-0 runs to help extend the margin to 31-9 with 5:46 on the clock. The Wolverines took a 38-15 advantage into the intermission.
 
Ben Drake hit the Blue Hose first three-pointer of the afternoon with 19:23 to go in the contest to get PC within 40-18. That was as close as the visitors got however, as the Wolverines ripped off the next 10 in a row to make it 50-18 with 17:12 remaining, putting the game beyond reach.
 
Players of the Game
McCormack led the Blue Hose with 10 points, while Cory Hightower pulled down a team-high six rebounds. Ben Drake chipped in nine and Sean Jenkins tallied eight points for PC. Brooks' 16 points led three Wolverines in double-figures. Austin Davis grabbed eight rebounds and Zavier Simpson handed out nine assists for Michigan, both of which were game-highs.
 
Stats of the Game
The Blue Hose struggled from the field, shooting 28.3 percent (17-60) from the floor and making just 3-of-20 three-point attempts. Michigan connected on 52.8 percent (28-53) from the field, including 11-of-27 from beyond the arc. PC had 13 turnovers, while forcing 10, leading to a 20-7 Michigan edge in points off of turnovers. The Wolverines held a 44-30 edge on the glass.

Presbyterian dips to 2-10 on the season, while Michigan improves to 9-3.
 
Notables
McCormack led PC in scoring for the second time this season with his 10 points, one shy of his career high.
