Farmville, Va. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team outlasted Longwood on Saturday afternoon to earn a 4-3 win. The victory moves the Blue Hose to 11-12 for the season, 3-2 against Big South opponents.

PC won the all-important doubles point against the Lancers by picking up wins on courts two and three. Jaime Castillo-Lopez and Max Benson won 6-3 on court two and the pairing of Alberto Conde and Vance Mercer picked up a 6-4 victory to secure the first point of the match for the Blue Hose.

Conde and Benson would both earn their second wins of the afternoon in singles play. Conde defeated his opponent in straight sets on court five. Benson had to play three sets on court two, but the freshman was able to prevail to bring PC within one point of clinching the match.

All eyes then moved to Jonathan Bedard on court six. His match was the last to finish because of a delayed start. The freshman was able to pick up a big straight-set win to clinch the match for the Blue Hose.
