Women's Tennis Drops Season Opener

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped its season opening match on Friday afternoon as the host Clemson earned a 7-0 victory at The Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.

"I was very pleased with how the team competed today," commented head coach Joel Roberts. "They continued to battle back every point throughout the match. Hats off to Clemson for playing well especially on the big points."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers got the at No. 3 doubles and No. 2 doubles to take the early 1-0 lead heading into singles action.
- Clemson earned wins in straight sets at No. 6, 2 and 5 spots to seal the match victory.
- The hosts earned wins at No. 1, 3 and 4 spots.
 
NOTABLES
- Sophomore Zeba Jamal competed for the first time with the Blue Hose at No. 3 doubles and No. 4 singles on Friday.
 
UP NEXT
The Blue Hose are back on the court tomorrow afternoon against Georgia Tech at 4 pm. The match will be at Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville.
