Jade Compton recorded the team's first double-double of the season with a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, but Longwood pulled away late, with 20 points from Dayna Rouse, to win 71-60 at the Templeton Center on Saturday. Tionna Carter (10 pts) finished in double-figures for the second straight game.

Series History | Last Matchup
The Pirates won both meetings last season and lead the all-time series 2-1. Presbyterian previously earned a 72-64 on March 8, 1994. 

The Blue Hose battled back to take a second-half lead, but the Pirates pulled away with 21 fourth-quarter free throws to earn an 82-68 victory at the Templeton Center in the last meeting.

Hampton heads to Clinton off back-to-back wins over UNC Asheville, 68-59, and Gardner-Webb, 63-58. Nylah Young led the Pirates with 21 points off the bench on 9-11 (.818) shooting against GWU.

Laren VanArsdale (15.7 ppg) and Ashley Bates (15.3 ppg) were leading the team offensively headed into the weekend.

Big South Player of the Week
Trinity Johnson was named the Big South Player of the Week on December 9 after her 30-point performance against UNCW that saw the guard account for half of PC's offense. Johnson previously was named the Freshman of the Week during the 2018-19 season (March 10) after back-to-back games with 24 points.

New Faces
Head Coach Alaura Sharp added seven new players by the way of two transfers and five freshmen. Redshirt sophomore Briley Buckner has also returned from an injury that kept her from playing last season.

Kacie Hall has 174 career three pointers and needs 23 more to catch 4th place, Janie Miles (2014-18). The senior guard also needs 32 points to reach 1000.
