NOTES
Presbyterian College opens its 108th season of basketball in 2020-21 ... This season will be one of the more unique ones in history, with the COVID-19 Pandemic changing sports schedules around the country ... The Big South Conference created a 20-team round robin this season, with teams playing each other in back-to-back days ... Teams are also being given the option of playing five non-conference contests, for a total of 25 games ...

PC travels to Jacksonville in the season-opener Dec. 2 ... Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., and will air on-line at ESPN+ and over the radio at WPCC ... The two teams have met just three times, with the Dolphins taking two of three, including an 81-58 decision last season ...

Jacksonville (1-2)
12/4/18    88-94; L    H
12/30/18    72-67; W    A
12/18/19    58-81; L    H

The Blue Hose and Head Coach Quinton Ferrell, now in his second season at PC, face five non-conference opponents in 2020-21, with a game at Jacksonville Dec. 2, at Wake Forest Dec. 13, and at The Citadel Dec. 22 ... PC hosts Wofford Dec. 6, and South Carolina State Dec. 18 ...

Leading a young team in 2020-21 will be Michael Isler, who was fourth on the team in scoring with 9.2 ppg, and rpg with 4.4, posting double-digits in scoring 13 times ...

Youth will be a theme for the season ... Gone from last year is 66% of the scoring, 59% of the rebounding, and 66% of the assist getters ... The five returners, three of whom were started a majority of the games, accounted for 34% of the scoring. 32% of the rebounding, and 33.7% of the team's assists ...

The Blue Hose finished the 2019-20 season 10-22 overall and 7-11 in the league ... The 10 overall wins tied for seventh in the PC DI record book for total victories, the seven conference wins, tied for fourth ...

PC played three teams from the Power 5 Conference last season ... The Blue Hose faced ACC's Clemson on Nov. 7, Notre Dame Nov. 18, and Michigan Dec. 21 ... Michigan was the only ranked opponent, sitting 14th/15th ...

This season the Blue Hose take on one from the Power 5 ... ACC's  Wake Forest is on tap for December 13 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

In conference play the Blue Hose were in the top five in several categories, including free throw percentage (.732 - 2nd), field goal percentage (.475 - 2nd), rebounding defense (30.6 - 1st), as well as third in rebounding margin (+2.8 - 3rd) ...

Last year, the Blue Hose were young with seven newcomers ... That pales in comparison to the 10 that the team sees this season ...

Signing in November and looking to make an immediate impact were point guard Ambaka Le Gregam (Nairobi, Kenya) and wing players Kobe Stewart (Augusta, Ga.) and Kirson Thrash (McDonough, Ga.) ... The middle of April brought in the signing of guard Rayshon Harrison (Greenville, S.C.), forward Giancarlo Sanchez (Sharpsburg, Ga.), and center Will Ferguson (Yulee, Fla.) ... Coach Ferrell announced at the end of April the adddition of forward Winston Hill (Columbia, S.C.) transferred in from Francis Marion ... Joining the Blue Hose the end of April and the beginning of May were transfers Brandon Younger (Marietta, Ga.), a guard who played last season for the Charlotte 49ers, and College of Charleston transfer guard Trevon Reddish ... Hill, Younger and Reddish will sit out for the season due to NCAA transfer rules ... Guard Will Garvey (Acworth, Ga.) joined the team in the fall as a walk-on, rounding out the 10 newcomers for this season ...

The Blue Hose added international flair with the addition of Giancarlo Sanchez, who currently lives is Sharpsburg, Ga. ... He hails from Dominican Republic ...
