UNC Asheville pulled away late to defeat PC, 64-48, on Tuesday at the Templeton Center. Sonora Dengokl scored a game-high 19 points and led four Bulldogs who finished in double-figures. Trinity Johnson scored a team-high 15 points and has +10 points in a team-best 20 games this season.

Series History | Last Matchup
The series is tied 14-14 with PC winning two of the last three. Earlier this season, the Blue Hose cruised to a 67-46 road win with Trinity Johnson recording 11 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Tierra Steede led the Bucs with 12 points and 11 boards. PC outscored CSU 26-6 in the second quarter to lead 44-17 at halftime.

The last time these teams met in the Templeton Center, PC overcame an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime. However, CSU used eight free throws in the extra period to win 63-55. Kacie Hall had a game-high 17 points.

Scouting Report
Charleston Southern is looking to snap an eight-game losing streak. They last picked up a 60-48 win at UNC Asheville on January 14. Last time out, the Bucs fell 71-64 to USC Upstate following a third quarter surge from the Spartans that saw the visitors go on a 15-0 run.

CSU averages 56.0 points of offense per game to hold a slight advantage over PC (55.6). However, the Blue Hose defense allows just 58.6 ppg compared to 70.2 points allowed by the Bucs.

Tierra Steede averages 10.4 points and 7.1 rebounds, while Carmella Walker averages 9.8 points and 2.2 steals. Tyra Wright is averaging 8.0 points and nearly 5.0 rebounds over the last four games, including a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) against USC Upstate.

Program Records
Jade Compton had a career game at Longwood last Saturday. The junior sank 12-21 (.571) field goals for 32 points while pulling down 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. The 12 made baskets and 32 points were both DI highs for the program, while the 21 attempts ranked second behind 24 attempts from Kacie Hall last season against Charleston Southern.

Trinity Johnson ranks 21st in the nation and 2nd in the Big South with 64 steals through 22 games (2.91 average). The sophomore needs four more to set a PC Division I single-season record.

UNC Asheville held PC to just 2-4 (.500) shooting from the free throw line on February 11. It was the fewest made free throws and free throws attempted since Duke held the Blue Hose to 3-4 on 11/26/17.

Trinity Johnson converted 10 free throws in back-to-back games against USC Upstate (10-10) and at Longwood (10-13) this season. Her collegiate-best of 13 made free throws (vs High Point, 2/16/19) ranks second in PC's Division I era behind Cortney Storey's 17 against NCCU (12/17/17).

1,000 Career Points
Kacie Hall's fourth quarter three against USC Upstate gave the senior 1,001 career points and sparked a 16-7 run that led the team to a 55-42 win. She became the fifth player in PC's Division I history to reach 1,000 points.

Trinity Johnson is fifth in scoring (14.8), ninth in FG percentage (.405), eighth in assists (3.1), sixth in FT percentage (.740), second in steals (64), eighth in assist/turnover ratio (0.8). Jade Compton ranks 10th in rebounds (6.0). Kacie Hall ranks 13th in assists (2.4). Tionna Carter ranks 10th in blocked shots (0.7).

Big South Player of the Week
Trinity Johnson was named the Big South Player of the Week on December 9 after her 30-point performance against UNCW that saw the guard account for half of PC's offense. Johnson previously was named the Freshman of the Week during the 2018-19 season (March 10) after back-to-back games with 24 points.
