Scoring the Game
Akron appeared to seize the momentum in the second half with three unanswered goals over four minutes that saw the visitors take a 9-6 lead with 10:48 to play. Kara DiClemente struck first with a free position goal at 7:58 to get the crowd back into the game. Madison Berg and DiClemente then struck with two more free position goals just 46 seconds apart to tie the game at 9-9 with 5:08 to play. The Zips' Abby Lerch saved a free position attempt from Abby Edmisten in the final minutes as both defenses stood tall and extra time was needed.

Akron's Abby McMullen recorded her game-leading seventh draw control to start overtime. However, Hyman then forced a turnover on the ensuing pass to gain possession for the Blue Hose near the restraining line. Her pass found a streaking Marshall who converted the one-on-one opportunity and gave Presbyterian College it's first overtime victory in program history.
