Fighting Irish Early Offense Downs Blue Hose

Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team was unable to overcome Notre Dame's early offense as the Fighting Irish earned a 10-4 victory on Saturday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex.

- The Blue Hose had hits from seven different players in Saturday's contest led by freshman Landon Shaw with two RBIs and Jimmy Marcelli added an RBI as well.

- With his fifth-inning single, junior David Sweat now has reached base safely in all nine games that he has played in during the 2020 season.
- Junior Reagan Fowler matched his season-high with 6.0 innings pitched in Saturday's start. Sophomore Clark Dearman tossed a season-high 3.0 innings.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Notre Dame got out to the early 3-0 lead in the first after a two-run home run.
- The Fighting Irish added a run in the second off of an RBI double to take a 4-0 advantage.
- The guests pushed it to a 5-0 lead in the fourth on a solo home run.
- PC responded in its half of the fourth led by Marcelli with an RBI double before Shaw added a two-run single to cut the Fighting Irish's lead to 5-3.
- Notre Dame added an RBI single in the fifth to push the lead back out to three, 6-3.
- PC cut the lead down to two, 6-4 in the seventh before Notre Dame answered with an RBI single in the eighth to push it back to a three-run advantage.
- The guests added three in the ninth to give them a 10-4 victory on Saturday afternoon.
