A 15-4 run to end the first half, and a 13-5 run early in the second by Winthrop broke open a close game as the Eagles took the 72-58 win over PC in the first game ... Rayshon Harrison led the Blue Hose with 17 points ...

Game Two Recap (WIN 78, PC 66)
Winthrop had an answer for several Blue Hose rallies in the second half to come away with the 78-66 win over PC in the second game of the series ... Rayshon Harrison led PC with 16 points, followed by three others with 11 points apiece. Kirshon Thrash and Owen McCormack paced the team on the boards with seven rebounds each ...

Due to changes in NCAA transfer rules for this season, Trevon Reddish (CofC), and Brandon Younger (UNCC) are now eligible ... Winston Hill (FMU) became eligible as well, and made an immediate impact with a double-double in his PC debut (12 pts., 12 rbds) ...

With 10 players gone from last season and just four returners, youth is a theme for the season ... Gone from last year is 85% of the scoring, 76% of the rebounding, and 79% of the assist getters ... 

The Blue Hose youth are stepping up ... After 10 games, newcomers are accounting for the top three scorers, top three rebounders, and two of the top four assists leaders ...

Rayshon Harrison has been honored as Big South Freshman of the week three times this season ... In his first collegiate game, against Jacksonville, Rayshon Harrison scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds, which earned him the season's first Big South Freshman-of-the-Week honors ... He earned is second after leading the team in scoring against Carver and SC State, averaging 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in two contest ... His third honor came after posting his second 20-point game against The Citadel ...

Early in the season the Blue Hose are already tops in a couple of PC DI season record books ... PC is second in rebounding average (33.8) and steals per game (6.7), and first in rebounding margin (1.5) ...

Signing last season and looking to make an immediate impact were point guard Ambaka Le Gregam (Nairobi, Kenya) and wing players Kobe Stewart (Augusta, Ga.) and Kirshon Thrash (McDonough, Ga.) ... The middle of April brought in the signing of guard Rayshon Harrison (Greenville, S.C.), forward Giancarlo Sanchez (Sharpsburg, Ga.), and center Will Ferguson (Yulee, Fla.) ... Coach Ferrell announced at the end of April the addition of forward Winston Hill (Columbia, S.C.) transferred in from Francis Marion ... Joining the Blue Hose the end of April and the beginning of May were transfers Brandon Younger (Marietta, Ga.), a guard who played last season for the Charlotte 49ers, and College of Charleston transfer guard Trevon Reddish ... Hill will sit out for the season due to NCAA transfer rules ... Guard Will Garvey (Acworth, Ga.) joined the team in the fall as a walk-on, rounding out the 10 newcomers for this season ...

The Blue Hose added international flair with the addition of Giancarlo Sanchez, who currently lives is Sharpsburg, Ga. ... He hails from Dominican Republic ... From Nairobi, Kenya, is newcomer Ambaka Le Gregam, who also lives in Concord, N.C. ... They join Sophomore Sean Jenkins, who moved to Spartanburg, S.C., from Cork, Ireland during high school ...
