CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College football team returns to Bailey Memorial Stadium on Saturday for homecoming as the Blue Hose welcome in San Diego for a 1 p.m. PFL kickoff. The matchup will be shown on ESPN+ from Clinton on Saturday.

Last Time Out
• In the inaugural Carolina Border Clash on Saturday night, the Presbyterian College football team was unable to contain the Davidson ground attack that totaled five rushing scores en route to a 70-35 victory at Richardson Stadium.
• Ren Hefley totaled 298 passing yards and a pair of passing scores in the contest.
• Jalyn Witcher recorded his fourth 100+ yard performance of the season with his ninth receiving score of the season. Witcher set a PC DI single-season record with his ninth score of the year.
Teacher Appreciation Day
• Saturday's game against San Diego will serve as Teacher Appreciation Day sponsored by Ingles with you just needing to show an ID at the gate to receive a complimentary ticket on Saturday.
• The Blue Hose will also host a food drive on Saturday as the non-perishable food items being donated to United Ministries of Clinton.
Hoseville on the Hill
• Hoseville is now on the Hill this fall at Bailey Memorial Stadium. Be sure to bring a couch, a tent and drinks and join us on the hill all fall for Blue Hose home football games.
Opponent Profile
• San Diego comes into Saturday's game with a 3-4 mark after a tight 13-10 result last time out against Drake. The Toreros have won three straight contests after starting the 2021 season with an 0-4 record facing two FCS ranked teams.
• The Toreros's quarterback Mason Randall has passed for 1,145 yards and six touchdowns so far in 2021. The graduate student has also added a pair of rushing scores to his docket in 2021.
• Terrence Smith has paced the San Diego ground attack with 343 yards and a score on 81 attempts.Through the air, Christian Brown has 25 grabs for 273 yards and three scores, while Michael Carner has 266 yards and two scores. Michael Gadinis has also added a pair of scores receiving in 2021.
• On the defensive side of the ball, Michael Hawkins has a team-high 52 tackles including 6.5 stops for a loss. Hawkins has also added two interceptions and four pass breakups in the Toreros first seven contests.
• Will Buck has a team-high 7.5 tackles for loss and Buck along with Muhindo Kapapa lead San Diego with 3.5 sacks.
• As a team, San Diego is the only team in the PFL with three defensive touchdowns which is one off the national lead.
Blue Hose in the Ranks
• As we enter Saturday's homecoming contest, the PC offense ranks second in all of the nation with 438.7 yards of passing offense.
• Freshman Jalyn Witcher is tied for the FCS lead following his ninth touchdown of the season on Saturday at Davidson. Witcher also sits seventh with 103.7 receiving yards per game.
• He ranks eighth in receptions per contest with 7.2 grabs per game. Witcher sits ninth as well with 622 total receiving yards.
• Quarterback Ren Hefley is third in FCS with 403.7 total offense. Hefley is second in the PFL with a 60.9 completion percentage. Hefley tops all FCS quarterbacks with 33.2 completions/game.
• Delvecchio Powell is third in the conference with 116.17 all-purpose yards/game which ranks 27th in the country. He's had 100+ all-purpose yards five times during the 2021 season
Newcomers Abound
• Over the course of the first six weeks of the 2021 season the Blue Hose have had 67 players play their first DI snaps this season which includes 59 freshman or redshirt freshman.
Receivers Racking Up the Yards
• The Blue Hose have had 23 different players record at least one catch which included 21 players in the season opener against St. Andrews.
• Freshman Jalyn Witcher has a team-high 43 catches to go along with 622 yards and a team-high nine touchdowns. Witcher has four 100 yard games on the year.
• Matthew Rivera has totaled 38 catches for 557 yards and four scores this season. He has also added three 100+ yard performances this season.
• Kiaran Turner has 404 yards receiving and three scores as Turner had 100+ yards against Fort Lauderdale week two.
• Ren Hefley's 10 touchdowns in the opener against St. Andrews were spread around to eight different pass catchers on Saturday.
Record Breaking Debut
• In Kevin Kelley's debut the Presbyterian College offense lit up the scoreboard in record breaking fashion. Ren Hefley totaled a DI School record 39 pass completions for 576 yards which ranks second in the same record book.
• Hefley also totaled a DI school record 10 passing scores with three of those going to freshman Jalyn Witcher who tied a single-game DI record.
• Witcher's 156 yards receiving ranked fourth in the DI single-game record book.
• As a team, Presbyterian totaled a DI record 51 completions, 669 passing yards, 10 passing scores, 94 total offensive plays and 814 total offensive yards.
Kelley Set to Lead the Blue Hose
• After coaching Pulaski Academy to nine state titles and totaling 200 wins in 18 seasons, Kevin Kelley is set to lead the Blue Hose beginning in the fall of 2021.
• Kelley was the offensive coordinator for six years at Pulaski before being named head coach of the Bruins.
• Under his tutelage, Kelley's players and teams have broken 15 national high school football records while compiling a 216-29-1 mark.
• Kelley approaches the game of football differently, as documented by media outlets such as ESPN, HBO Real Sports and Fox Business News. His philosophy and tactics have been featured in articles in several publications such as the New York Times and Sports Illustrated, as well as in the book "Sportscasting."
