PC Earns Victory over Radford Behind Cooke's Triple-Double

CLINTON, S.C. – Behind senior Erin Cooke's fifth triple-double of 2021 season, the Presbyterian College volleyball team earned a four-set victory over Radford (25-22, 25-9, 23-25, 25-17) at the Templeton Center on Friday night. Cooke totaled 10 kills, 20 assists and 18 digs in Friday's victory.

"Another solid team effort tonight. After the third set, the team showed some heart and came back out and finished the job this evening. Cooke had a great defensive effort with 19 digs and Rylee continued her strong work on the front row from Tuesday night.  "

Notables
- Cooke recorded her fifth triple-double of the season on Friday night with 10 kills, 20 assists, and 18 digs as the senior hit .296 in the victory. She is currently leading all of NCAA with her five triple-doubles in 2021.
- Freshman Rylee Moorhead totaled a match-high 14 kills as she also totaled nine digs and a pair of blocks. Moorhead hit .379 in the match as it's her second-best hitting percentage in a match this season. She hit .435 on Tuesday night against CSU.
- 5th Year senior Allie Wright recorded seven kills, four digs, and five blocks as she hit .368 in the contest.
- 5th year senior Sierra Jones totaled 17 assists and matched a Blue Hose season-high with five service aces.
Hailey Grocholski recorded seven kills and three blocks as she hit .500 for the match.
- On the week, PC held opponents to a .115 hitting percentage as the Blue Hose hit .255 for the week against Radford and Charleston Southern.

How it Happened 
- Radford raced out to a 7-2 lead forcing an early timeout from the Blue Hose. Presbyterian responded with an 11-4 run to take a 13-11 advantage. The guests pushed back ahead with an 8-4 spurt to take a two-point lead at 19-17. The Blue Hose closed the set on an 8-3 run to win the first set 25-22.
- The Blue Hose raced out to an early 8-1 lead in set two with PC scoring the first seven points of the set. The Highlanders cut the lead to six, 13-7 but a 12-2 set closing from PC propelled the Blue Hose to the 2-0 lead in the match following a 25-9 set two victory.
- The two teams traded the lead in the early going with three ties before a 7-1 run gave the guests a 12-6 lead. PC responded with a 7-1 burst to even the set at 13 apiece. Both teams continued to trade runs before the Highlanders closed the set on a 7-3 run to force a fourth set.
- The Blue Hose got out to an early 5-2 lead before both teams traded runs before PC got out to a 15-8 lead to create separation. The Highlanders cut it down to a 17-12 score before Presbyterian was able to pull away in the set and win 25-17 to take the match.
