Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team suffered a three-set defeat against Campbell (16-25, 14-25, 10-25) on Friday night at Gore Arena. Kasey Battle led the Blue Hose attack with six kills on Friday, while senior Erin Cook totaled a team-high 14 assists.

Notables
-  Battle led the attack with six kills as she also added four digs in the contest.
- Erin Cooke, Paige Cairns and Hailey Grocholski each added four kills in the match. Cooke added a team-high 14 assists and a pair of aces along with four digs and a block.
- Anna Hewitt had a team-high 17 digs on the defensive end.
 
How it Happened
- After PC raced out to a 5-2 lead early, the hosts responded with a 6-0 run to take an 8-5 lead an force a PC timeout. Campbell continued to put the pressure on PC with a 10-3 burst to make it a 10 point advantage at 18-8. The Blue Hose got it down to five at 20-15 before Campbell earned the set one win at 25-16.  
- The hosts jumped out to a 9-1 edge in the second set to force a Blue Hose timeout. Campbell continued its strong performance in set two with a 7-0 burst to push it out to 16-1. Presbyterian chipped away at it but couldn't overcome the early set struggles as the Fighting Camels earned a 25-14 set victory.
- In the third set, PC raced out to an early 3-1 lead before a 9-4 burst from the hosts gave them a 10-7 advantage. The Fighting Camels went on an 8-2 run en route to completing the three-set sweep over PC on Friday night.
