Presbyterian Plays USC Upstate at Martin Stadium in Regular Season Finale

The Presbyterian Blue Hose play the USC Upstate Spartans at Martin Stadium in their final regular-season game this Wednesday, November 3 at 7 p.m. Heading into the final game of the regular season, the two teams are currently tied for the sixth and final spot in the Big South Conference Tournament.

Last Time Out
The Blue Hose scored a season-high three goals in a 3-3 double-overtime tie against Gardner-Webb at Martin Stadium this past Saturday. Niklas Hoener, Alex Guzman, and Voro Rivera Peris all scored their first goals of the season in the game.

Big South Conference Goal Scoring
Ndrin Maloku and Nile Nguidjol have each scored two goals in Big South Conference play. Lenni Mierow has dished out two assists in league play.

Big South Player of the Week
Last week, Nguidjol became the first player in the Presbyterian men's soccer program's history to earn Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. A member of the Blue Hose's defensive unit claimed Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors for four straight weeks earlier this season (Sept 7, 13, 20, and 27). Aidan Montoure captured the award in late September. Cesar Sancho earned league Defensive Player of the Week honors in each of the first three weeks of September.

Presbyterian – USC Upstate Series History
Wednesday's game will be the 15th meeting between Presbyterian and USC Upstate, who leads the all-time series 8-5-1. USC Upstate defeated Presbyterian, 5-1, at home in their last meeting, March 10, 2021. The Blue Hose won the last game between the two teams at Martin Stadium, 3-1, on October 19, 2019.

Scouting USC Upstate
The Spartans enter the game after a 5-0 home win over UNC Asheville last Saturday. Mario Arrocha and Javier Torres lead USC Upstate with six goals apiece. Arrocha has also dished out a team leading four assists this season.
