CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team had a balanced scoring attack with five in double-figures as the Blue Hose defeated Piedmont 86-64 on Wednesday night at the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose were led by Jade Compton with 18 points as she added six rebounds in the win.

Scoring the Game
- Piedmont got out to an early 5-2 lead on the Blue Hose over the first four minutes before PC responded with an 8-0 run over the next four minutes to take a 10-5 advantage. After a Lions free throw, the Blue Hose closed the quarter on an 11-3 run to take a 21-8 lead to the second.
- The two teams traded buckets over the first two minutes before a 9-2 run from Piedmont cut the Presbyterian lead to 29-22 with 6:27 to play in the opening half. Both teams continued to trade baskets down the stretch with the Lions getting to as tight as six before a quick 4-0 PC spurt gave them the 40-30 lead at intermission.
- Much like the second quarter, PC and Piedmont traded baskets in the opening three minutes before a 5-0 burst gave Presbyterian the 55-38 lead with 4:47 to play in the third. The two teams traded layups before a 6-0 run from the Lions cut the PC lead to 11, 57-46 with 2:42 to play. Willis connected on a pair of threes to push it back to a 63-46 edge and PC took a 65-48 lead to the fourth quarter.
- The Blue Hose began the fourth on a 9-3 run to push the lead to 77-51 with 5:55 to play in the contest after back-to-back buckets from Jasmine Stevens and Paige Kindseth. Piedmont inched closer with a bucket down the stretch but the Blue Hose answered each time keeping the lead at 20+ en route to an 86-64 victory over the Lions.

- Jade Compton led the way on Wednesday with 18 points as she connected on 7-of-17 from the field and added a pair of threes. Nyah Willis added 14 points with four from beyond the arc and had a career-high eight assists. Paige Kindseth, A'Nyah Barker and Tionna Carter each chipped in with 10 points. Kindseth pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Colby Reed led Piedmont with 15 points, while Klaire Varney added 14 points and Hope Franklin chipped in with a dozen. Varney led the Lions with nine rebounds. Livia Skinner distributed a team-high six assists.
Stats of the Game
- The Blue Hose posted their third game with 50% or higher from the field as PC made 35-of-70 in the contest while limiting Piedmont to 38.1% (24-of-63). Piedmont made nine threes as the Blue Hose connected on eight from beyond the arc. PC made 8-of-11 at the foul line with the Lions connecting on 7-8. The Blue Hose had a 39-38 edge on the glass. The Blue Hose also had 21 assists compared to 15 helpers for Piedmont. Presbyterian won the points in the paint battle by the count of 40-24. PC had 15-7 edge in steals and had one more block compared to the Lions at 6-5.

- PC had all nine players who saw action on Wednesday night score at least five points with the leader being Compton with 18.
- Freshman Jasmine Stevens totaled a career-high with seven points while also pulling down a career-high with eight rebounds.
- A'Nyah Barker had a career-high in points with 10, field goals made with four and three assists which is also a new career-high for the Fair Lawn, N.J. native.
- Paige Kindseth set a new career-high with nine rebounds as she added 10 points to her stat line as well. The 10 points is her third double-figure scoring performance and is one of her career-high.
- Junior Georgia Stockton had a career-high with four assists as she matched her career-high in steals with four.
- Junior Nyah Willis had her fifth double-figure scoring game in her last six with 14 points as she added a career-high with eight assists.
- The Blue Hose bested its season-high for points with its 86-point performance surpassing the 82 the Blue Hose totaled against St. Thomas on Nov. 20.
- PC improved to 4-0 when outrebounding its opponents.
- Presbyterian totaled a season-high with 21 assists led by Willis with eight helpers.
- The Blue Hose recorded a season-high with six blocks led by Bryanna Brady with a pair.
- PC had a season-high with 15 steals and it's the first game with 15 steals for the Blue Hose since January 9, 2021 against USC Upstate.
