Volleyball Headed to Gardner-Webb for Weekend Series

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team hits the road for the first time this weekend as they head up to Boiling Springs, N.C., for a pair of matches at Gardner-Webb.

Last Time Out...
Presbyterian took the court for the first time in 439 days and its home floor for the first time in 467 days last week, dropping a pair of matches to preseason conference favorite High Point. In the opener, PC fought back to win the second set after dropping the first, but HPU took the next two to win the match. The Panthers then knocked off the Blue Hose in three sets the following evening.

Blue Hose Debuts...
PC had four players make their Blue Hose debuts against High Point, including three who made their collegiate debuts. Freshman Anna Hewitt served as Presbyterian's libero in both matches and dug up 20 balls, an average of 2.9/set. Jordan McAda and Abby Sparkman also made their collegiate debuts, with McAda racking up nine kills (1.3/set) and three blocks (0.4/set). Sparkman notched a pair of digs and her first career service ace in the opener against HPU. Cydni Miller, who transferred to Presbyterian from Prairie View A&M, marked her first two matches for PC with seven kills (1.2/set) and three blocks (0.5/set).

Scouting the Runnin' Bulldogs...
Gardner-Webb enters the weekend 0-2 as well, having dropped both of their opening weekend matches against Radford. Madison Deslatte's 17 kills (2.4/set) paces the Runnin' Bulldogs, while Delaney McCollough tops GWU with 10 blocks (1.4/set). Presbyterian has swept the season series in each of the last three seasons, and has won nine of the last 11 meetings overall between the two.
