CLINTON, S.C. –Trevon Reddish hit 23 points, while
Rayshon Harrison added 22 to lead the Presbyterian College men's basketball team to the 75-65 win over USC Upstate in Big South action Monday evening at Templeton Center in Clinton, S.C.
Scoring the Game
Behind eight points from
Rayshon Harrison the Blue Hose opened a 10-point, 20-10 lead with 11:46 on the clock in the first half. An 11-4 run by USC Upstate over the next five and a half minutes cut the margin to three, 21-24, 6:40 left. A three-point game again five and a half minutes to go, Harrison used a jumper and three-pointer to bring the Blue Hose lead to eight, 31-23, 5:11 remaining. Back-to-back baskets by Nevin Zink in the final three minutes made it a three-point game again, 33-36, 1:45 on the clock.
Kobe Stewart closed out the half with a dunk 29 seconds to go as PC went into the locker room leading by five, 38-33.
The Blue Hose used a 10-2 run early in the second half to extend their lead to 10, 48-38, 16:42 remaining. The Spartans returned the favor with 10 straight, six coming from Everette Hammond, and tied the game at 48-48, 13:56 on the clock. Trailing at 50-52,
Winston Hill hit a layup at 11:24, sparking a 10-0 run to retake and build the Blue Hose lead to eight, 60-52, 7:49 left. A seven-point contest, two USC Upstate free throws made it five, 66-61, 3:13 left.
Trevon Reddish hit a basket at 1:19 and two free throws at 59 seconds, and PC went ahead by nine, 70-61. PC hit seven free throws in the final minutes to hold off any potential USC Upstate rally and come away with the 10-point, 75-65 win.
Players of the Game
Trevon Reddish scored one-shy of his career-high with 23 points, followed by 22 from
Rayshon Harrison. Harrison added a team-leading eight rebounds as well. Everette Hammond led Upstate with 19 points, with Khydarius Smith paced the team with six boards.
Kobe Stewart stole the ball a PC Division I record tying and career-high six steals.
Stats of the Game
USC Upstate shot 62.5% from the field, but 42.3% in the second half to finish with 52.0%. The Blue Hose were at 55.2% in the first and 50.0% in the second for 52.7% after 40 minutes. Rebounds in the first half were slanted to the Blue Hose, 16-6, which gave PC a 6-0 edge in second chance points. The boards evened out in the second with PC holding the 29-22 advantage. The Spartans led the turnover margin 19-15. USC Upstate was a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe compared to 13-of-18 for PC.

Kobe Stewart recorded a career high and PC Division I tying six steals.
The 12 team steals tied for seventh in the PC DI record book.

PC improves to 7-12 overall, 5-10 in the league, while USC Upstate moves to 4-16, 4-10.
