Late Runs Push Tigers Past PC

Auburn, Ala. – Auburn used the power of three home runs to propel them to a 6-1 victory on Saturday afternoon over the Presbyterian College baseball team at Plainsman Park. In the fifth, junior Eric Toth connected on his first career home run as a Blue Hose.

NOTABLES
- In his collegiate debut, freshman Charlie McDaniel went 5.0 innings allowing just four hits and one run along with two strikeouts.
- Eric Toth's fifth inning home run marked the second straight day that a Blue Hose recorded their first career home run for PC. Jake Wyandt had the homer on Friday night for Presbyterian.
- Sophomore Alex Flood matched his career-high as he went 1.2 innings in relief of McDaniel as he totaled a career-high four strikeouts.
- Wyandt totaled a career-high three hits which led the Blue Hose on Saturday afternoon.
- Chris Veach, Sean Klein, Ryan Ouzts and Kyle Decker joined Wyandt and Toth in the hit column.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Tigers got on the board first with a solo home run down the left field line to take the early 1-0 lead.
- In the fifth, Toth led the inning off with a first pitch solo home run to left center to even the game up at one apiece.
- The hosts took a 2-1 lead in the sixth off of a balk.
- Auburn extended its lead with a pair of solo home runs in the seventh to push the advantage to 4-1 thru seven frames.
- The Tigers tacked on two more in the eighth with an RBI single and double respectively to give them the 6-1 victory on Saturday.

 - Presbyterian and Auburn wrap up this weekend's three-game set tomorrow afternoon with first pitch set for 2 p.m. at Plainsman Park.
