Kori Lawrence came out of the scrum in front of the net and fired a shot past the goalie in the 83rd minute to give the Presbyterian women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Radford on Sunday afternoon at Martin Stadium.
The Blue Hose earned their first victory over the Highlanders since 2015 and open the season 1-0 for the first time since 2017.

SCORING SUMMARY
Carolay Ospina provided an early scoring chance for PC on a shot that sailed just over the crossbar, but the teams went into the half scoreless. In the first 45 minutes, Radford out shot Presbyterian, 6-3, and
Megan Serrano recorded a pair of saves.
The Blue Hose nearly took the lead in the 61st minute on a shot from
Morgan Hutchison that caromed off the cross bar.
On Lawrence's scoring chance, which came at the 82:19 mark, the Benson, N.C. native fired a shot that was initially blocked by a Highlander's defender but was able corral the rebound and find the back of the net.
The Blue Hose were able to limit any Radford scoring chances over the final seven minutes to hold on for the victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Highlanders out shot the Blue Hose, 14-13, but PC had more shots on goal, 4-3.
- Radford produced five corner kick opportunities while PC had zero.

Mackenzie Azuero each played 45 minutes in net. Azuero picked up her first collegiate win and finished with one save.
