CLINTON, S.C. –  The Presbyterian College women's tennis team was defeated on Thursday afternoon by the score of 7-0 against Elon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

"It was a tough battle from the team this afternoon," commented head coach Joel Roberts."Elon played well and was tough in the big moments. We just have to keep controlling what we can control and continue to move forward."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elon got on the board in doubles with a pair of 6-2 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take the early 1-0 advantage.
- The Phoenix extended the lead to 2-0 with a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles before they pushed the lead to 3-0 with a win at No. 4 singles.
- The guests clinched the match at No. 5 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
- Elon added wins at No.1, 2 and 6 to clinch a 7-0 shutout victory on Thursday afternoon.

UP NEXT
- Presbyterian returns home for a 1 p.m. first serve on Sunday afternoon against North Florida at the Templeton Tennis Courts. The match with the Ospreys will be preceded by the men's tennis team facing Chattanooga beginning at 10 a.m..
