PC Men's Tennis Set for Pair of Weekend Matches

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team wraps up a four match homestand this weekend as it welcomes in Emmanuel College on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m… The Blue Hose wrap up the weekend with their Big South opener against Gardner-Webb on Saturday at 11 a.m.. Both matches will be played at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
- Emmanuel comes into Friday's match with a 1-3 record following a 4-3 defeat in its last match against Georgia College. The Lions earned a win over Limestone earlier this season.
- Lucas Hideo Sasaki and Wilfredo Lara both have two singles wins on the year to lead the Lions.
- Lara and Kornel Kimaszewski have two wins at No. 1 doubles for Emmanuel.
- Friday will be the first all-time meeting between Presbyterian and Emmanuel College.
 
SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
- Gardner-Webb sits at 4-6 currently on the year with a match on Thursday afternoon against Longwood on tap before traveling to Clinton on Saturday morning. The Runnin' Bulldogs earned a 6-1 win over Campbell in their league opener on Monday afternoon.
- GWU has also tallied wins against Belmont Abbey, College of Charleston and Queens.
- Connor Enslin and Chrisjan Van Wyk both lead the Runnin' Bulldogs in singles with four wins on the year.
- Van Wyk and Victor Putter lead Gardner-Webb on the doubles side with a 4-0 record in No. 1 doubles.
- PC and Gardner-Webb will meet on Saturday for the 15th time in the Blue Hose DI history with Presbyterian holding an 8-6 lead all-time in that series. Gardner-Webb earned the win in the most recent match during the 2019 season by the score of 7-0.
 
STENGER EARNS BIG SOUTH WEEKLY HONOR
- Presbyterian College men's tennis senior Daniel Stenger has been named the Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week, for the week of March 1-7, the league announced on Wednesday. 
- Stenger earned a pair of singles wins at No. 2 singles along with a doubles win at the No. 1 doubles position last week as the Blue Hose went 1-1 overall.
- It is the fourth time in Stenger's career that he has earned a Big South weekly honor as he earned two freshman of the week honors during the 2018 season and pulled in a player of the week award during the 2019 season.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Presbyterian College men's tennis team following a setback on Saturday earned a dominating 6-1 victory over The Citadel on Sunday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
