Blue Hose Hit the Road for Two Midweek Matches

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team begins a busy week on Tuesday afternoon when the Blue Hose travel to Raleigh to take on N.C. State at 2 p.m… PC's week continues on Thursday at 3 p.m. in league play on the road against UNC Asheville.

SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
- N.C. State enters Tuesday's match with an 8-4 record following a 4-1 victory over Miami (Fla.) on Saturday. The Wolfpack have won four straight matches and six of their past seven matches.
- NCSU checks in at No. 15 in the most recent ITA team rankings.
- The Wolfpack have picked up wins against Alabama, Charlotte, Louisville, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Florida State along with the win on Saturday over Miami (Fla.).
- Alexis Galarneau leads the Wolfpack with a 9-2 record overall playing the No. 1 singles position for N.C. State. Robin Catry sits at 6-3 in singles play as well playing at No. 4 & 5 this spring.
- Presbyterian and N.C. State have not met prior to Tuesday in Presbyterian's DI era.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- UNC Asheville comes into Thursday's match with a 3-4 record following a 4-3 setback against Charlotte on Saturday afternoon.
- The Bulldogs have earned wins so far this season against UNC Greensboro N.C. Central and Montreat College.
- Leo Bierbaum leads the Bulldogs with a 6-1 singles record as he has played at the No. 4 and 5 singles spot primarily in 2021. Jon Brann Reid and Harry Thursfield both have earned four wins in singles action so far this spring.
- The duos of Thursfield/Bierbaum and Brann Reid/Charlie Morkel are both 4-1 in doubles action so far in 2021.
- PC holds a 9-5 edge over UNC Asheville in the Blue Hose DI era all-time series with the Bulldogs taking the most recent meeting from the Blue Hose in 2019 by the score of 4-3.  

LAST TIME OUT
- The Presbyterian College men's tennis team opened league play on Saturday with a 5-2 setback against Gardner-Webb at the Templeton Tennis Courts. Nicholas McKinney and Max Benson earned singles wins in the defeat to the Runnin' Bulldogs.  
- On Friday, The Presbyterian College men's tennis improved to 4-1 on the spring on Friday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Emmanuel College at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

UP NEXT
- Following Thursday's match with UNC Asheville, the Blue Hose return home on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. match against Davidson at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
