Bucs Spoil Blue Hose League Opener

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team opened Big South play on Tuesday with a 8-2 setback against Charleston Southern at the PC Baseball Complex. Freshman Brody Fahr led the Blue Hose with two hits including his first collegiate double.

NOTABLES
- Fahr led the offensive attack with a two-hit game including his first collegiate extra base hit. Jay Wetherington, Sean Klein and Kyle Merkle also got into the hit column on Tuesday with base knocks.
- Eric Toth made his first appearance on the mound as a member of the Blue Hose recording a pair of outs in the ninth inning including an inning ending punchout.
- At the plate, Toth has reached base safely in all seven games during the 2021 season.
- Brandon Williams tossed a career-high in a Blue Hose uniform going 2.2 innings.
- Fahr, Wetherington and Allen Brown all made their first collegiate start for the Blue Hose on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charleston Southern got on the board first in the third inning with an RBI single to left field to take the 1-0 lead.
- CSU extended the lead in the fourth with an RBI triple and RBI double in back-to-back at bats to extend the lead to 3-0 Bucs.
- PC got on the board in its half of the fourth taking advantage of a pair of CSU errors to allow both Andrew Livingston and Eric Toth to score and cut the CSU lead to one, 3-2.
- Charleston Southern answered in the sixth with an RBI single to push the lead back out to two, 4-2.
- The guests added an RBI single in the seventh to extend the advantage out to 5-2.
- The Bucs added three in the ninth on three RBI singles to push the lead out to 8-2 and give CSU the win on Tuesday afternoon.

• The Blue Hose are next in action beginning on Friday March 20th at 5 p.m. when PC travels to Radford to open a three-game series with the Highlanders.
