Blue Hose Travel to Georgia State, Host Belmont Abbey this Weekend

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team wraps up a busy week with a Friday afternoon matchup in Atlanta with Georgia State at 2 pm. The Blue Hose week concludes on Saturday morning with a 10 am doubleheader with Belmont Abbey from the Templeton Tennis Courts.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
- Georgia State enters Friday's match with an 8-5 record as the Panthers have won each of their last four matches including a 6-1 win over Coastal Carolina on Tuesday afternoon in Georgia State's last match.
- Harvey Maughan leads the Panthers in singles action this season with eight victories playing primarily at the No. 5 positions for GSU. Vazha Shubladze has seven wins all coming at No. 1 singles. 
- Maughan and Kevin Huynh have six doubles wins to lead Georgia State this spring. 
- Presbyterian and Georgia State meet on Friday for the fourth time in the Blue Hose DI era with GSU earning all three wins in the prior meetings.

SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
- Belmont Abbey is 8-9 overall this spring as the Crusaders are coming off of a 4-3 defeat to Piedmont last Saturday.
- Kai Lloveras leads the Crusaders with eight singles wins so far this spring. Nelson Stafford has totaled six wins as he has played at No. 1 and 2 singles this spring.
- Kent Shiell and Bailey Horne lead the Belmont Abbey team in doubles with six wins. 
- PC and Belmont Abbey have played four prior times with the Blue Hose earning the win in each of those matches. 

LAST TIME OUT
- The Presbyterian College men's team continued its busy week of matches on Wednesday with a tight 4-3 defeat at UNC Asheville in Big South Conference play at the Asheville Racquet Club. 
Max Benson improved to 8-2 overall in singles with his seventh consecutive win on Wednesday.

UP NEXT
- Following Saturday's doubleheader with Belmont Abbey, the Blue Hose return to league action on April 2 at 3 pm when PC heads to Longwood.
