Edmisten Scores Six In Setback to Campbell

Clinton, SC - Presbyterian College's Abby Edmisten scored six goals as the women's lacrosse team fell to Campbell, 23-8, on Saturday afternoon at New Bailey Memorial Stadium. Campbell's Julianna Sanchez collected a game-high 15 draw controls to go with four goals and one assist.

Scoring The Game
Edmisten scored in the opening minute from the free position spot to give PC a 1-0 lead at 29:10. After Campbell tied it, Edmisten gave PC another early lead, 2-1, with an unassisted goal at 22:58. After a 4-0 run by the Camels, the Blue Hose fought back with back-to-back goals from Madison Berg and another from Edmisten to make it a one-goal deficit, 5-4, with 12:10 remaining in the first half. However, that was as close as it would get as Campbell closed the half on a 9-2 run to hold a 14-6 lead after thirty minutes.

Campbell opened the second half on a 7-0 run that blew the game open. Edmisten scored her sixth of the game with 13:54 left to play off an assist from Kelly Hyman who then turned around and scored two minutes later to make it a 21-8 deficit. Campbell tacked on two more goals with less than 10:00 to play to reach the final score of 23-8.

Presbyterian travels to Radford on Wednesday, April 21, for a 5 pm matchup. It will be the final road game of the year for the Blue Hose who will then host High Point on April 24 at 1 pm for Senior Day at New Bailey Stadium.
