Volleyball Begins Season with Bash in the Boro

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team begins its 2021 season this weekend with the Bash in the Boro in Statesboro, Ga. PC opens the weekend with a Friday night contest against the hosts, Georgia Southern, then is set to face Bethune-Cookman and Coppin St on Saturday.

Notes

Last Time Out...
Presbyterian finished out its 2021 spring schedule with a split against Charleston Southern. The Blue Hose served up nine aces in the series opener against the Buccaneers on their way to a sweep. PC tallied a season-high 13 more aces the following day, but CSU rallied from a 2-0 deficit to top the Blue Hose in five sets.

Back in Blue...
The Blue Hose bring back a wealth of experience this fall, with 12 of the 13 who saw action in the spring returning for PC. Among the returners are Erin Cooke and Anna Hewitt, who were All-Big South Second and Freshman Team honorees, respectively, in the spring.

The Opponents...
PC begins the season with Georgia Southern, who has knocked off the Blue Hose in four of the previous five meetings. The most recent contest was a 3-1 GSU win in 2016. The Blue Hose are 2-0 against Bethune-Cookman, having defeated the Wildcats in both 2008 and 2010. PC has never faced Coppin State.
