Men’s Soccer Hosts Terriers on Tuesday Evening

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's soccer team are in search of their fourth straight win as they take on the Wofford Terriers on Tuesday, September 14, in their last game before starting Big South Conference play. Kickoff will be at 7pm.

Scouting the Terriers | Series History
Tuesday's match will be the 19th meeting between the Blue Hose and Terriers in a series that dates back to 1977. Wofford won the first six matchups from 1977-1982, but Presbyterian came back with a four-game unbeaten streak from 1990-1993. The Blue Hose are 1-2 in the last three against the Terriers. Wofford is 2-2 this season, losing their first two, but defeating Big South opponents Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville.
 
Joel Tyson is in his 3rd season at the helm of Wofford with a record of 7-22-2.
 
Last Time Out
The Presbyterian College men's soccer team had to wait until the 73rd minute to find their goal as it was Cesar Sancho who flew through the air to get his head on it and send it into the bottom corner. His goal led Presbyterian ot their first three-game win streak since 2018, and their first four-game unbeaten streak in Division I program history.
 
Welcome Back!
PC returns 25 members from last year's squad that went 4-4-2 overall and 2-4-2 in conference play. Notable returnees include last season's leading scorer Mamadu Bah, who had four goals in the spring season. Also returning are redshirt-junior Cesar Sancho and sophomore Nokkvi Nokkvason who will play as Presbyterian's captains.
 
New Kids on the Pitch
Presbyterian welcomes 8 new faces to this season's roster, six of which are trans­fers. Nile Nguidjol, Ndrin Maloku, Niklas Hoener, Juan Alonso Munoz, Shae Wirt, and Ben Kaindu make up the list that have come over from other schools, while Alex Guzman and Gabriel Prokes are true freshmen.
 
Big South Preseason Poll
The Blue Hose were selected to finish sixth in the preseason poll after posting an overall record of 4-4-2 a season ago.

The Blue Hose will begin Big South Conference play on the road as they travel to High Point for a 7pm kickoff on Friday, September 24.
