CLINTON, S.C. – Behind four singles and two doubles wins, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (1-0) defeated the Kennesaw State Owls (1-1), 5-2, in their season-opening match at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

DOUBLES
The Blue Hose started the match strong by claiming the doubles point with wins at number one and two doubles. At number one doubles, Presbyterian's
Max Benson and
Dusan Milanovic claimed the Blue Hose's first win of the season with a 6-2 victory over Kennesaw State's Matthew Terry and Daniel Botti. At number two doubles, Presbyterian's
Nicholas McKinney and
Sebastian Dominguez captured the doubles point for the Blue Hose with a 6-4 victory over the Owls' Harvey Conway and Seru Tezuka. At number three doubles, Presbyterian's
Javier Matos and
Georgije Babic were leading Kennesaw State's Raul Garcia and Hugo Salmeron, 5-4, when the match was stopped since the Blue Hose had clinched the doubles point.
SINGLES
The Blue Hose won four singles matches to claim the overall victory. At number one singles, Presbyterian's Milanovic gave the Blue Hose a 2-0 lead after a 6-4, 6-2 win over Kennesaw State's Garcia. Kennesaw State won at number three singles to cut the Blue Hose lead in half. Presbyterian's Babic defeated Kennesaw State's Tezuka, 6-4, 6-3, increasing the Blue Hose lead to 3-1. At number four singles, Presbyterian's Matos clinched the overall victory for the Blue Hose with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Kennesaw State's Conway. At number one singles, Kennesaw State posted a three-set win. Presbyterian's Dominguez made the Blue Hose's final margin of victory, 5-2, after a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at number six singles over Kennesaw State's Salmeron.
