Women's Basketball Travels to Gardner-Webb on Tuesday

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team heads out on the road on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. when the Blue Hose travel to Boiling Springs to take on Gardner-Webb from Paul Porter Arena. The matchup with the Runnin' Bulldogs is slated be broadcast on ESPN+.

Behind another balanced scoring attack, the Presbyterian College women's basketball team defeated Radford, 74-63 on Saturday afternoon at the Templeton Center. Sophomore Maleia Bracone led the Blue Hose with 17 points, while Tionna Carter added 14 points as Jade Compton and Paige Kindseth each added 12 points.

Over the last five games for the Blue Hose, Jade Compton is averaging a double-double with 16 ppg and 11 rebounds per contests. Sophomore Maleia Bracone has 14.0 ppg, 5.8 rebounds per contest and 10 threes. Tionna Carter has averaged 11.2 ppg, 5.6 rebounds and is 50% from the field.

Compton is fourth in the league in offensive rebounds with 42 on the year... As a team, PC is second at the free-throw line shooting 70.8%...

Jade Compton is one of three players in league games to average a double-double thus far. Compton is averaging 16.0 ppg and 11.0 rebounds a game. The 11 rebounds/game is third among Big South players in league games thus far.... Compton is tied for fourth in three pointers with seven made in four league games... Nyah Willis is sixth in assists with 17 throughout Big South play...

Double-Doubles in 2021-22...
Jade Compton's added her second double-double of the year last Wednesday against CSU with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 68-58 victory over the Bucs. Compton's first double-double of the season came in the Big South opener against Longwood with 32 points and 15 rebounds. Nyah Willis had a pair of double-doubles in non-conference play against St. Thomas (15 pts, 11 rebs) and Vanderbilt (16 pts, 12 rebs)...

Field Goal Shooting...
PC ranks fourth in the Big South in shooting percentage at 40.6%. It is highlighted by three games of 50% or higher including a season-high 54.8% against ETSU during PC's four-game win streak earlier this season. Presbyterian has shot 41.5% or higher in eight of the 14 games during the 2021-22 season.

Field Goal Defense...
PC also ranks fourth in shooting defense among Big South teams allowing just 39.9% of opponents field goals thru 14 games.

Scouting the Runnin' Bulldogs...
Gardner-Webb enters Tuesday's game with a 6-10 mark following a 77-51 victory over Winthrop on Saturday. The Runnin' Bulldogs are 4-1 in Big South play thus far. Jhessyka Williams ranks second in the league in scoring at 17.6 ppg and is third in the league in rebounds at 8.4 rebounds per contest. Lauren Bevis is second for Gardner-Webb averaging 13.6 ppg as she's made a conference leading 38 threes this season. Alasia Smith is averaging 12.6 ppg and checks in second in the league in rebounds at 9.1 rebounds per game. Gardner-Webb ranks third in the league in scoring offense at 66.9 ppg.
