BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team's second-half rally came up short on Tuesday night as the host Gardner-Webb downed the Blue Hose 64-56 in Big South action. The Blue Hose were led by fifth-year senior Jade Compton who had 18 points, while Tionna Carter chipped in with 11. Freshman Paige Kindseth pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds in the contest.

Scoring the Game
- PC jumped out to an early 5-2 edge courtesy of an early three from Maleia Bracone with 7:56 to play in the quarter. Gardner-Webb would push the lead to six, 15-9 over the next six minutes on the heels of a 13-4 run. The Blue Hose cut into the lead late with a pair of free throws as the hosts led 15-11 after one.
- Gardner-Webb used a 9-3 run in four minutes to push it to a 24-14 edge for the hosts. PC chipped away at it with a 5-0 burst from Carter and Bracone before the two teams traded a few baskets to make it 28-23 with 1:47 to play in the half. GWU closed the half on an 8-0 run to take a 36-23 lead to the break.
- The Blue Hose opened the third quarter on a 13-2 run to cut the Runnin' Bulldogs lead to two, 38-36 with 6:20 to play in the third. Led by Compton, the Blue Hose continued to chip away at the GWU lead ultimately leading to two ties down the stretch and a 46-46 game heading to the fourth.
- Both teams continued to go back-and-forth in the fourth quarter with the hosts opening the quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 54-48 lead with 3:59 to play. PC used a quick 6-2 spurt to cut it to a 56-54 deficit with 2:20 to go. The two teams would trade jumpers before six straight at the foul line over the final minute gave the host Gardner-Webb a 64-56 victory.

- Jade Compton led the Blue Hose with 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while Tionna Carter added 11 points in the contest. Freshman Paige Kindseth pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds to lead PC. Maleia Bracone led the way with four assists. Alasia Smith led Gardner-Webb with 22 points along with 11 rebounds, while Jhessyka Williams had 15 points and a team-high 14 rebounds. Gardner-Webb had a pair of players with two assists to lead the way.

- PC posted a 45.8% (22-of-48) field goal percentage while limiting Gardner-Webb to 34.8% (23-of-66). Both teams connected on three from beyond the arc. PC made 9-of-16 at the free-throw line and the hosts connected on 15-of-23 foul shots. Presbyterian won the rebounding battle 39-37. The Blue Hose had 13 assists compared to seven for Gardner-Webb. Both teams had 34 points in the paint.
