Women's Basketball Set to Host Campbell on Wednesday

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team returns home to host Campbell on Wednesday night from the Templeton Center on ESPN3. The matchup with Campbell is set for a 6 p.m. tip.

Last Time Out...
Fifth-year senior Jade Compton totaled 23 points and nine rebounds to lead the Presbyterian College women's basketball team to the 69-54 Big South win over UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon at Kimmel Arena. Maleia Bracone added 15 points, while Tionna Carter chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds in the victory.

Last Five Games...
Compton is one of three Blue Hose players averaging 10+ points over the last five games as she's got 14.6 ppg. Maleia Bracone has added 13.5 per game and Tionna Carter rounds the trio out at 11.4. Compton leads the Blue Hose on the glass averaging 9.2 per game in PC's last five.

Blue Hose in the Ranks...
Jade Compton is tied for fourth in scoring at 16.1 ppg. She is also sixth overall in rebounds at 7.4 per game. Nyah Willis ranks fifth in the league at the foul line making 72.9% of her foul shots. Willis is tied for eighth in the league with 41 assists on the year.

Double-Doubles in 2021-22...
Jade Compton's added her second double-double of the year last Wednesday against CSU with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 68-58 victory over the Bucs. Compton's first double-double of the season came in the Big South opener against Longwood with 32 points and 15 rebounds. Nyah Willis had a pair of double-doubles in non-conference play against St. Thomas (15 pts, 11 rebs) and Vanderbilt (16 pts, 12 rebs)...

Field Goal Shooting...
PC ranks fourth in the Big South in shooting percentage at 41%. It is highlighted by three games of 50% or higher including a season-high 54.8% against ETSU during PC's four-game win streak earlier this season. Presbyterian has shot 41.5% or higher in 10 of the 16 games during the 2021-22 season.

Field Goal Defense...
PC also ranks second in shooting defense among Big South teams allowing just 39% of opponents field goals thru 16 games. In the Blue Hose last two league games they have held their opponents under 35% from the field at 34.8% against Gardner-Webb and 31.7% against UNC Asheville.

Scouting Campbell...
Campbell improved to 13-3 and a perfect 7-0 on Monday night against Hampton by the score of 69-51. The Fighting Camels are on a 10-game win streak dating back to December 1st. Campbell is led offensively by Faith Price who's averaging 12.8 ppg while making 42.7% from beyond the arc. Taya Bolden currently is averaging a double-double with 12.1 points/game to go along with 10.5 rebounds. Luana Serranho also has been solid from deep at 45.6% and averages 10.5 ppg. They lead the league in scoring defense allowing just 49.7 ppg which is in the top 10 nationally.

Up Next...
PC is back home on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. to host High Point in game one of a doubleheader for the Blue Hose basketball programs. The men's team is set to host UNC Asheville at 4 p.m. on the back half of the doubleheader from Templeton.
