CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team suffered a 57-47 setback at the hands of High Point on Saturday afternoon at the Templeton Center. Nyah Willis totaled a game-high 13 points as Tionna Carter had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Scoring the Game
- The Blue Hose jumped out early with four quick points before the Panthers rattled off 10 straight points to take the 10-4 lead with 3:19 to play in the opening quarter. PC inched closer with a Bracone free throw followed by a Bryanna Brady layup before a 7-0 spurt over the final two minutes gave the guests the 17-7 edge after one.
- The hosts inched closer with back-to-back threes from Bracone before a Panthers layup gave them the 19-13 lead with 7:16 to play in the first half. PC went on an 8-0 run over the next two minutes to take the 21-19 lead with 4:45 to play in the opening half. Both teams traded mini runs as the score remained tight before a 4-0 burst in the final minute gave High Point a 26-24 halftime lead.
- High Point opened the second half fast with an 8-0 run to take a 34-24 lead with 7:44 to play in the quarter. PC pushed back with an 8-3 run to cut the Panthers lead to 37-32 with 3:22 to play. Back-to-back layups from Carter cut the High Point lead to 39-36 before a quick three points from the guests gave them a 42-36 lead going to the fourth.
- The guests opened the fourth quarter on a 7-3 run to push it to a 10-point lead before a quick two at the line made it 49-41 with 6:38 to play. HPU used a 7-0 burst to push the advantage to 56-41 with 1:52 to go and would hold on for the 57-47 victory.

- Nyah Willis led the Blue Hose with 13 points on Saturday as Tionna Carter recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Maleia Bracone rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points. Willis also totaled a team-high three assists. High Point was led offensively by Callie Scheier and Nakyah Terrell who both totaled 11 points. Jenson Edwards pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and recorded a team-high four assists.

- High Point shot 41.3% (19-of-46) as the Panthers limited PC to 26% (13-of-50) from the field. The guests connected on six from beyond the arc and held Presbyterian to five made from deep on Saturday. PC posted a 72.7% (16-of-22) at the foul line as the Panthers were 13-of-25 (52%) at the charity stripe. PC won the rebounding battle by the count of 37-34. High Point forced 11 steals compared to five for the Blue Hose. The Panthers held a 26-14 edge in points in the paint on Saturday.

- Tionna Carter recorded her first double-double of the season and her sixth career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. She's posted double-figure scoring performances in six straight games.
- Carter is the fourth player to record a double-double this season as Jade Compton and Nyah Willis have two each along with Maleia Bracone adding one earlier this week.
- Carter moved to 11th in the DI record book with 386 career rebounds. She passed Janie Miles on Saturday.
