CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian captured the doubles point including defeating the ninth-ranked doubles team in the nation and
Georgije Babic posted a singles win but the Blue Hose (2-3) lost a tightly contested match, 5-2, to the Charlotte 49ers (2-2) on the road.
"In doubles, we were super energetic and won the doubles point," Presbyterian coach
John Collins said. "In singles, we battled. I am proud of our team for the fight they showed today."
DOUBLES
With wins at number one and three doubles, the Blue Hose captured the doubles point. At number one doubles, Presbyterian's
Dusan Milanovic and
Max Benson defeated Charlotte's Coy Simon and Stefanos Savva, who are ranked ninth in the ITA Doubles rankings, 6-3. At number three doubles, Presbyterian's Babic and
Javier Matos posted a 6-4 win to capture the doubles point.
SINGLES
At number five singles, Presbyterian's Babic posted a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 win. Presbyterian lost in three highly contested sets at number one, four, and six singles.
