Volleyball Hosts Pair of Conference Foes This Weekend

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team returns to defend its home court beginning on Friday with a visit from Radford with first serve set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+. The weekend wraps up for the Blue Hose on Saturday with a 2 p.m. matchup against Campbell which will also be broadcast on ESPN+ this weekend.

Last Time Out...
The Presbyterian College volleyball team led by a career-high 19 kills from sophomore Rylee Moorhead got back in the win column on Saturday with a 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 27-25) victory over host USC Upstate from the G.B. Hodge Center. In the match, junior Anna Hewitt became the sixth Blue Hose in the DI era to eclipse 1,000 digs as the junior led the team with 28 digs in the victory.
 
Head to Head...
Radford holds an 12-7 all-time record against the Blue Hose with the Highlanders taking the match from the Blue Hose in straight sets earlier this season. Campbell has taken 12 of the 19 all-time DI meetings including each of the last five matchups against PC including a 3-1 decision against the Blue Hose earlier this season in Buies Creek...
 
Scouting the Highlanders..
Radford improved to 8-14 with a four-set win over UNC Asheville in its most recent on-court action. The Highlanders were able to improve to 4-6 in league matches with the win over the Bulldogs. Radford is led offensively by Crystal Childs who's tallied 160 kills, while Taylor Jefferson has added 153 on the season. Fiona Baker leads the way for Radford with 420 assists and Jackeline Nerro has added 262 helpers. The Highlanders are led in digs by Shelby Hernandez who's totaled 296.
 
Scouting the Fighting Camels...
Campbell begins the weekend with a 14-8 mark overall and the Fighting Camels have taken all 10 of their Big South matches thus far in 2022 which includes three of those matches in straight sets. Chloe Cook leads Campbell with 220 kills just ahead of Melody Page who's recorded 208. Emily Mitter leads Campbell with 479 assists thus far in 2022. Claranne Fechter leads the Fighting Camels with 396 digs. Page has tallied a team-high 127 blocks.
 
Hewitt Eclipses 1,000 Digs..
Junior Anna Hewitt became the sixth player in the Blue Hose DI era to eclipse 1,000 digs on Saturday against USC Upstate as the PC libero tallied a team-high 28 digs in the four-set win over the Spartans. She became the first Blue Hose since Erin Eulitz in 2019 to surpass 1,000 digs in their time with Presbyterian.
 
Blue Hose in the Ranks...
Rylee Moorhead is tied for seventh among qualified offensive players in the league with 220 kills... Moorhead is fourth in the league with 30 aces, while Anna Hewitt is sixth with 24 aces and Abby Sparkman is seventh with 22... Hewitt is 10th in digs with 242... Moorhead is eighth in the conference in points with 261.5...
