During the offseason, the Presbyterian College women's basketball program will share Get to Know your Blue Hose profiles. Our next profile features junior guard Laila Grant.

She spent 2021-22 season at Vincennes University where she averaged 14.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 3.5 apg. She led her team to a 20-9 overall record. Made the NJCAA All Region 24, 1st Team following the season. Spent 2019-20 and 2020-21 at Gulf Coast State. Here she averaged 12 ppg and made the All-Academic team both seasons at Gulf Coast State.

Toughest Thing about Being a Student-Athlete: Maintaining confidence at each stop I've been at and finding my way as a student-athlete.
Jersey Number Have any meaning: 24. It was my number at JUCO so I just kept it this season.
Why did you choose to come to PC: It was the coaching staff. Very welcoming and it felt like the right fit when my dad and I came for the visit.
One word to describe your style of play: Controlled
Do you feel you need to step up as a leader being an older player: I have to step up and be a vocal leader where as before I had to be a quiet leader and lead more by example. I want to push myself to be more of a vocal leader and not just lead by example.
